So, Mother's Day is quickly sneaking up on us.
Here are a few unique Mom's Day ideas if your bag of tricks is feeling a
little less than full...
- Pamper the momma in your life like no other at
Aequis Spa in
downtown Portland. Hands down the best spa experience e-v-e-r. Every
visit starts with a pampering foot massage and is followed by a
to-die-for facial or massage. You leave this place feeling like
royalty and heck, what mom doesn't deserve that?!
- Take mom out for a morning at the
Farmer's
Market held on Saturday's at the PSU park blocks. Have her pick out the
fresh, organic (and local!) veggies (and perhaps some yummy seafood) and you
can treat her by whipping up the finest salad created so far this century.
Flower stands, babies, happy-tongue-wagging dogs and salt-of-the-earth
Portlander's abound and are sure to create a memorable experience for all.
There are very few things that we can think of that beat eating really well
and supporting our local farmers. Yep, give the gift of community because feeling
connected is priceless.
- A few weeks ago, we were dying for a killer steak and ended up at the
Portland City Grill. Located on the 30th floor up in the "Big Pink" in
downtown Portland, the Portland City Grill offers simply stunning views of
Portland's downtown and the Willamette river and let me tell ya-- we had the
BEST filet mignon ever. Seriously. So good, in fact, our dining
partner was more than a little jealous (we shared-- ok, a little
bit). So far, very few places scream "special occasion" like this
place.
What's cool in Portland this week
Allow us to introduce you to some super cool wearable art created by a very
talented Portland artist and mycologist team. As you know, we are all
about supporting our locals and we love nothing more than to stumble across
fascinating Portlander's who are doing great work simply because they love it
more than life itself.
Please stop by and show your support for a local man's passion that
translates into something that is so intrinsically "Portland"--
here.
Oh -- What is mycology?
Learn about it here!
Where've you been all of my life?
Many of you have written and asked why our blog well had seemed to run
dry...well, we've been super busy rejuvenating our neighborhood pages over the
last few months and what a great time it has been (and yes, we are back and
ready to blog!) We've been meeting new people and checking out new (and
old) shops, pubs and restaurants all over the town. Boy oh boy, what rough
work ;-)
Check out these neighborhood pages and enjoy the new additions.
