In past, the "Ai" schools were colleges that offered primarily Associate's degrees, but these days they have extended their program offerings to Bachelor's Degree programs, given that a four-year degree has become almost a pre-requisite for employment in many fields. In addition to art and design courses, they are now also offering culinary arts courses. Students who desire a career in a creative field will find Portland Oregon is a vibrant and inspirational place to attend courses at the Art Institute of Portland. We have a growing creative class, and Portland celebrates the Arts. The Portland Art Institute School is conveniently located in the heart of Downtown Portland's Pearl District--one of the more popular (and expensive) Portland neighborhoods. While living right near the school in the Pearl District can be expensive for students, because it is centrally located, students will find an easy commute on Portland's Public transportation including the TriMet bus, light rail, and street car lines.
