Description

Beaumont-Wilshire is an older, well established neighborhood with a strong sense of community. It has a nice mix of residential and commercial property. The main road through Beaumont-Wilshire neighborhood is NE Fremont Street, and the primary commercial focus is "Beaumont Village", between NE33rd and NE 50th. The excerpt below is from a recent Beaumont-Wilshire Neighborhood study:

"Beaumont Village, on NE Fremont Street from NE 33rd to NE 50th, is one of those special places with strong ties to the surrounding Beaumont-Wilshire neighborhood. The neighborhood was platted and first developed in 1910. According to 1996 Census data, the neighborhood consists primarily of owner-occupied, single-family housing, with approximately 5,463 residents. Residents recognize the Swiss House, which stands between NE 41st and NE 42nd on NE Fremont, as a popular and recognizable anchor for the commercial area. The building, nicknamed by residents for its 1929 Tudor style, offers services such as a hair salon, specialty retail, a grocery store and restaurants. Other buildings with varying styles and tenants line NE Fremont, providing residents with what they cite as good, small neighborhood.oriented businesses. Residents value NE Fremont's easy walking access, gathering places, and its small-town and community center feel." -Prepared for the Beaumont-Wilshire Neighborhood Association by In Your Neighborhood Consultants

Hot Eats

One of the newer, popular restaurants is Fife. Located in a striking earth-toned building, Fife features unique dishes made from organic and local ingredients.

One of the most popular places on Fremont is Parisi's, where locals come to enjoy delicious gelato (mmmm....ice cream) and also coffee and sandwiches.

Of course no neighborhood in the Northwest is complete with at least one coffee shop, but how about tea? A huge selection of delicious aromatic teas can be found at Foxfire Teas.

For groceries and other goodies, check out Beaumont Market on 4130 NE Fremont. They're your local down-home corner market with groceries and fun gift items, as well as the gorgeous array of "market" flowers outside...

Focus on…

Green Dog Pet Supply features lots of great dog and cat items, ranging from healthy, high quality natural and organic foods, to some fun pet-themed cards, magnets and other gifts. Green Dog focuses on "green" pet supplies, so while you are doing something good for Rover, you will be doing something nice for the planet, too. Stop in and visit Green Dog, located in Beaumont Village at 4605 NE Fremont Street.

Defining Image Salon. These folks will take their good sweet time making you gorgeous. They are friendly, and best of all--experienced! I trusted my precious long locks to one of their expert colorists and ended up with the perfect, sun-kissed highlights I had asked for. It took over three hours but they didn't make me feel rushed at all, and in fact I felt relaxed and right at home in this "small town" girl-next-door salon. Located at 4811 NE Fremont St.

STRADA is a fitness and adventure training center offering personal and group training, fitness classes, youth programs and outdoor adventures.  Located at 4815 NE Fremont.

Entertainment

Take your family to Wilshire Park to enjoy a sunny afternoon relaxing on the grassy lawn, enjoying a picnic, or playing ball.

This is a family community...so you won't find much in the way of hopping bars or clubs. But, you are only 10-15 minutes away from downtown if that is the entertainment you are looking for.

Vibe...

Family friendly, welcoming, strong sense of community. Walkable.
