Safeway Waterfront Blues Festival - Named one of the top 10 festivals in the US, this is the biggest annual Portland 4th of July event and one that cannot be missed.

The Safeway Waterfront Blues Festival is Oregon Food Bank's largest annual fundraiser. The event is owned and operated by Oregon Food Bank and raises food and funds to help fight hunger.  Learn about the history of the Safeway Waterfront Blues Festival

The festival is located on the McCall Waterfront which runs alongside the Willamette River in downtown Portland. At 10pm a huge fireworks display is set off on the river and every bridge and rooftop is a great seat if you're not at the festival. This event is one of the most popular Portland 4th of July Weekend Events in Portland, Oregon.
 

Fireworks at Oaks Park- Annual 4th of July Celebration. Gates open at 10 am, rides start at noon. All picnic spaces are first come first serve. Gate fee is $4.00 for 16 and over, $2.50 for 15 and younger. All personal fireworks and alcohol are prohibited (bags and coolers will be checked). Portland 4th of July Weekend Events- Soccer style! PGE PARK and the Portland Beavers present the 4th of July Fireworks Extravaganza! 

The Portland Beavers and Portland General Electric (PGE) are teaming up to celebrate the nation's independence on Sunday, July 4, with a host of activities, including a special post-game fireworks show, as the Beavers entertain the Las Vegas 51s at 7:05 p.m.

The traditional fireworks show will follow the conclusion of the game and will originate from the center field area of PGE Park. A host of additional special events and promotions will add to the festivities.

Advance tickets for the game, which annually draws one of the largest crowds of the season, are available at the PGE Park box office, located at 1844 S.W. Morrison, or through Ticketmaster outlets, by phone at (800) 745-3000 or online at www.ticketmaster.com. Tickets start at $8. Gates open at 5:30 p.m. Prior to first pitch, kids 12 and under can take advantage of the Beavers' Kids-Eat-Free plan, play catch on the field and get autographs from Beavers players. Fort Vancouver - Attendees will enjoy a renewed focus on family, community and fun. The gates open at 8a.m. The venues, including entertainment on four stages spread throughout the historic site, begin at 12:00 noon. The fireworks show begins at 10:05 p.m. The community can help light up the sky at Fort Vancouver this July 4 by donating toward the event on its website, www.FortVan.org.

Fireworks: Returning to the event's roots, the celebration will culminate with a spectacular fireworks show launched not from a barge in the Columbia River, but from Pearson Field, as it was years ago. Not only will the fireworks be a half-mile closer than in recent years, but the display will be directly overhead and will include a wider range of pyrotechnics compared to past fireworks shows. The best place to view the fireworks is at the Fort Vancouver National Site. It is unlikely that the fireworks will be visible for people who are not at Fort Vancouver.

Fireworks Prime Viewing Area: New this year is a fireworks prime viewing area where prime viewing area ticket holders will enjoy a catered picnic by beaches, live music on the acoustic stage and a spectacular view of the launch site and the fireworks. Prime viewing tickets are $50 for ages 21 and above, $25 for those aged 20 and below. The prime viewing area is just south of the Pearson Air Museum.

Activities: Families will find a full slate of fun activities to enjoy throughout the day. Theatmosphere will be like an old-fashioned country fair with a fun, family-friendly focus.

  • Live music and more on four stages: main stage, children's stage and a heritage stage—and in the fireworks prime viewing area, an acoustic stage
  • Children's entertainment including puppet shows, hula dancing, old-fashioned children's games like three-legged races, face painting and more—and all free!
  • Guided walking tours along Officers Row
  • Patriotic parade of vintage fire trucks, military vehicles and cars, led by children festively dressed in red, white and blue
  • Teens will enjoy music, crafts, water balloon competitions, dollar cage and more
  • Live music, great food and a Beaches Cabana beer garden will appeal to adults
  • Historical elements include black powder demonstrations, Victorian croquet games, 1880s waltz demonstrations, Chinook wa-wa language lessons and more
  • Bi-plane rides from Cap'n Mac (fee)

Admission: In order to make the new event economically sustainable, the Fort Vancouver National Trust is charging a nominal admission fee to those ages 13 and older. Children ages 12 and under are free. Save $2 per ticket by purchasing tickets online through midnight on July 3—and pay only $5. Tickets are available to purchase online at www.FortVan.org. Tickets purchased at the gate on July 4 will be $7 for ages13 and above. This event is the most popular Portland 4th of July Weekend Events for those living close to or in Vancouver, Washington.
