Portland Ground Kontrol

Portland Ground Kontrol Guide.   The Portland Ground Kontrol is a classic Portland arcade featuring cheap arcade games and many classics that you know and love.  Most locals seem to prefer it to Electric Castle's Wunderland, but Wunderland does tend to be cheaper (5 cents as opposed to a quarter).  Either way, they are fun Portland arcades worthy of spending time for either your own kids or your own inner child.  Seriously, some of these old school arcade games are gonna take you back: Frogger, PacMan, Donkey Kong, Tetris, Joust, Q-Bert, Centipede, Gauntlet, Super Mario Brothers,  Street Fighters, and--wait--Q*BERT?!  I forgot all about Q-Bert!  Galaga?  I can whup anybody in Galaga--bring it on!  If you enjoy your competitive sport to be of the gaming sort, then welcome to the arcade heaven called Ground Kontrol.

It's like going back in time to your teenage years, or if you are a new teenager, you can fall in love with what made the 1980s so much cheesy fun.  Also, pinball fans will fall in love.  Nice beer selection, and DJs too.  In fact, they have a great sense of humor about their DJs.  Here is a sample description from their website: "Ground Kontrol helps you vent your customer service rage with an Industrial / Darkwave audio assault by DJ Tibin. Fans of Ministry, KMFDM, Skinny Puppy, et al will feel right at home blasting enemies in Area 51 or vanquishing foes in Gauntlet: Dark Legacy while savoring a cold one. Just don't wear white!" 

Yep.  This is a GREAT way to spend a dreary Portland afternoon, and blow off some steam while trying to improve your hand/eye coordination.
