Portland OMSI -Oregon Museum of Science and Industry

Portland OMSI – Oregon Museum of Science and Industry Visitor’s Guide.
The Oregon Museum of Science and Industry
(OMSI), was founded back in 1944.  Since then, it has become one of our
nation’s most loved and visited science museums.  As one of the
leading science museums in the country, OMSI offers a wealth of fun and
educational activities for families and visitors of all ages.  With
219,000 square feet of “brain powered fun”, there’s never a dull
moment at OMSI.  Known for their hundreds of interactive exhibits,
hands on demonstrations, and featured events.  OMSI Portland offers five exhibit halls,
eight science labs, the popular giant-screen OMNIMAX Dome theater, and the
Harry C. Kendall planetarium, the most technologically advanced planetarium in the Pacific Northwest.  As if that weren’t
enough fun, outside is the USS Blueback submarine.  This was the last
US Navy built “fast-attack” submarine that was diesel powered.

OMSI is located on the east side of the
scenic Willamette River in downtown Portland.
