Portland Street Fairs - Portland Festivals

Each spring after a long, wet Portland winter, Portlanders burst forth into the sun and celebrate all summer long with Portland Street Fairs and Portland Festivals in nearly every Portland neighborhood.

While each festival is unique to the neighborhood, the one thing they all have in common is a strong sense of local community, and lots of fun!  Portland street fairs feature live music, parades, vendor booths, arts and crafts, community events, fun for the kids, and more.

More Portland Street Fair and Festival Info

Portland Street Fairs and Portland Festivals are as unique as the neighborhoods that host them.  The Alberta Street Fair, for example, is alive with wild creativity and you can always expect funky, crazy, and fun happenings.

The Mississippi Avenue Street Fair is a jam-packed celebration and always promises HOT weather, tons of people, and booths offering all manner of handcrafted goods, as well as great eats, drinks, and music.

The Belmont Street Fair and Hawthorne Street Fair in SE Portland are summertime celebrations of two of the most popular streets in SE Portland.  Both Belmont and Hawthorne are lined with tons of great places to eat and shop.

The Foster Powell and Division Clinton Street Fairs are not to be outdone, either!  With a strong sense of local community, each street fair focuses on what makes their neighborhoods unique and special.  It's a nostalgic sense of neighborhood and community that other big cities have lost.

North Portland celebrates, too, with the Good in the Hood in Eliot Street Fair, and the Kenton Street Fair in Portland.  St Johns neighborhood always celebrates with a popular annual parade and fair.

NE Portland has the Fremont Street festival in the super cute Beaumont Wilshire neighborhood along Fremont Street .

Montavilla neighborhood in East Portland started their own Montavilla street fair in 2010: "Montavillage Festival is an annual event that brings together the Creative Science School community, local vendors, business associations, youth groups, and the entire Montavilla neighborhood. The free afternoon event includes food, local vendors, yard games, live music, social services, arts and crafts, sustainability events, and a free raffle (for gift certificates generously donated by local businesses)."

The two biggest Portland summer  festivals are the Portland Rose Festival, which offers live music, drinks, rides, and tons of events, and the Safeway Waterfront Blues Festival, which fills the Portland waterfront with live blues music.  Both of these events kick off summer in Portland, and bring out Portlanders in droves to enjoy the sun (and rain...it usually rains at least once during the Rose Festival).

With so many amazing Portland neighborhoods and new Portland Street Fairs and festivals cropping up each year, it's possible we missed a few from this list!  If so, feel free to add your Portland Street Festival or other Portland event directly to the Portland Events Calandar.  This is also where you can find the dates for the street fairs and festivals in Portland that we've listed above.
