Perhaps more importantly, Powells Bookstore is simply one of the finest bookstores in the world. Powell's City of Books takes up an entire city block downtown, and you can get lost for hours exploring the labyrinth of color-coded rooms. And, Hawthorne, Beaverton, and the Portland Airport each get Powell's Bookstores of their own. Powells Books also features a wide range of unique gift items, so it is a fun time to shop for the holidays or any time you are looking for a unique gift. Powell's City of Books is conveniently located in Downtown Portland off of Burnside, and features a coffee shop where you can spend some time looking out the windows people watching, or reading one of your new (or used) book finds.
