Portland Jet Boat Guide -  If you've been anywhere near the Willamette River in Downtown Portland during the summer months, you've probably seen the Portland jet boats carrying Portland tourists and locals by on a scenic river tour. And, to add to the excitement, periodically on your jet boat tour, the boats hurtle through the water at great speeds, turning sharply--sending water flying, with tourists screaming in delight.  Don't believe me? Check the videos below.  As compared to the more sedentary Portland Spirit river boat cruises (which are also great fun), the jet boat tours get you down closer to the water, and out in the open air with the wind in your hair and the water spray on your face--this is more of a thrill ride than a cruise, although you'll get to enjoy some great Portland scenery on either type of boat tour.  Without a doubt, this tour can be a fun addition to your list of things to do when visiting Portland.

There are two big jet boat tour companies in town: the Portland Spirit, and Willamette River Jet Boats.  Each is described below.  Portland Jet Boat tours offer daily seasonal tours (May through September), but you can also reserve a jet boat for your private group or event.  What could be more fun than celebrating your birthday or other special event, having a blast with all your friends on a boat speeding up the Willamette?

All Willamette Jetboat tours board at the Oregon Museum of Science and Industry (OMSI) dock by the USS Blueback Submarine on the East side of the Willamette River across from Downtown Portland. Park* in OMSI�s second parking lot by the loading dock. Then, walk toward river by the submarine. Call for information on disability access.

Boarding is on the dock at the riverfront by the USS Blueback Submarine.

*OMSI now charges $2 per car for parking. They have instructed us to collect it at our office. Please bring cash to cover this.
